Granny Striping

Good Morning,

Time passes by too fast. I feel like each time I look at my calendar another month has passed. I am gearing up to travel on business to Seattle, Washington. I am very excited to visit Seattle as I have never been there before. One thing I am not looking forward to is the long plane ride across the entire country.

This weekend I spent most of my time getting things in order prior to leaving for my trip. I was able to work a little bit on my new cardigan and the English Meadow granny stripe from a couple months ago. The sweater is making slow progress. I am using an F size hook and the next portion requires are smaller hook, so I need to get to the store before I can go much further. Somewhere over time and moving to Florida, I lost some of my hook sets. I am not sure if I have used a hook smaller than F before.

It looks like the sun was a little too bright for the photos!

I am not sure what I will bring to work on while traveling. This blanket is too large to transport with me. I try not to bring any extra items with me during travel to alleviate any stress on my back during transport. I may have to bring some yarn to start some more granny circles...
Well, it is a beautiful day, the sun is shining and the temperature is not too hot. Hopefully I can sneak some time outside in between a busy day of work.
I hope your Monday is joyful!
xoxo Susan

  1. Love your granny stripes! I'm planning to make a granny stripe blanket too - I've ordered the yarn and it's the first time I've done that without seeing it first... but it's yarn that Andrea at Apples and Pears has used and made some lovly things, so I'm sure it'll be good!

  2. What fab colors. I love this one with the blues and yellow.

You will have a wonderful time in SEA, it's a great city to visit. I think they have some wonderful yarn shops too. So, just bring your hook.

You have to tell us how you made that last pictures, what fun.

  3. Love this beautiful blanket. The colors remind me of the sea....so calming. How about a very fun Queen Anne's lace scarf, very easy and portable, you will become addicted. I googled the pattern when I made my first, which quickly became 7 scarves. It takes around 150 yards dependingon the length you want, be sure to bring enough yarn to make two as you will become addicted. My sister calls it the obsession scarf.

  4. Hi Susan, nice to have found your blog... your crochet work is lovely! The English Meadow blanket is coming along nicely. As for travel projects, I've always got a hook and something small - like a washcloth or simple granny squares - in my bag. Enjoy Seattle. We have a cousin who teaches at Univ of Washington there. Have a good week :-)

  5. I am so partial to this blanket... in fact I started one in several shades of blue, green and yellow too, a while back (before my Mom "hijacked it" to continue it!) I love the colors you chose, they're softer than mine :)
