Weekend Wonderfuls

Good Morning Lovelies,
The sun is peaking out from behind some clouds and I up am ready to go this Saturday morning. Yesterday I wove all of my ends in on my granny garden blanket and took some photos. I think the blanket is at least a third of the way done, maybe a little more than one third. The progress is similar to my ripple. So I guess I can say they still have a way to go before being finished. Yesterday I was reading on the raverly message board about having multiple WIPs so you do not get so sick of them you never finish. Apparently I do that too! Today I will try to make a dent into more circles for the granny garden.

My two Lucy projects that got me obsessed with crocheting: ripple and circles to squares!!

A little collection of what I have worked on the last month. I forgot to put my granny stripe in there. I put the granny stripe into a bag to take to see baby McKenna (I can't go away without a WIP to work on!) and forgot to bring it back out. Well there you have it! I bought my first batch of yarn on Friday, January 14th and went to work on the ripple, and here I am less than 60 days later with lots of goodies!
Have a fabulous day

African Flower Daisy Cushion

Hello Everyone,
Today was another lovely Saturday here. I attending a gathering for J's work for most of the day, but this evening I am going to try to complete my African Flower Daisy cushion. I shared some photos of the first four flowers I made and now I am working on the finishing the last few flowers and then I have to figure out how to connect them all and design the back of the pillow.

So, hopefully my post for tomorrow will include a finished African flower daisy cushion!!! I am going to do a regular granny square cushion next. Maybe I should have started with a simpler cushion first but I just love the African flower pattern... and most flower patterns in general. I hope you enjoy your Saturday night.

Super Crochet Time

Super Bowl = Prime time crocheting! Although J isn't a big fan of either team playing in the super bowl, I am enjoying this evening during the super bowl crocheting the night away.
Last week I discovered the beautiful African Flower's created by many of you crocheters out there through Flickr and Elizabeth Cat. I made the pinkish flower as my first tester and posted that a few days ago. This weekend I've been working on some daisy looking ones for a project I hope to reveal later this week. Here are my African Daisy flowers so far:

This is my first time making granny-like squares that are not square shape. I love making these flowers! I suspect I will be like Elizabeth Cat and start making many of them in a variety of colors. Once my friends and family see these, everyone is going to want a piece!
I did not post anything yesterday because after our community garage sale, which was a great success, I wasn't feeling very well. I got some rest yesterday afternoon and evening, and I am feeling much better today. Hopefully I kicked it and won't be sick later this week. The spring semester is already a quarter of the way finished for my university, I can't believe how fast time is flying by.
Well, back to crocheting, I hope to have a significant portion of one of my other works in progress (WIP) to show you tomorrow after all of my crocheting this evening.
XOXOXO

Lovely Nights

Two posts in one day!!!!!!! I am becoming blog obsessed. Well not really, I am crochet obsessed though. I think I am going to sneak over to A.C. Moore tomorrow and get some more yarn. I don't want to have to buy it had a higher price, plus they had the best selection of Vanna's Choice compared to the other craft stores in the area, and yes I went to all of them the last few weeks.

As I type this post, I can hear the crickets outside my window, it reminds me of summers when I was young. I loved the sound of crickets at night because it meant it was summer, and summers are too short in Buffalo.  The last few evenings have been just like perfect summer nights in Buffalo. The smell of the air brings back memories of playing hide and go seek outside with my brother K and our next door neighbors. We would play in the dark until our parents would make us go inside to get ready for bed. My brother Kevin is turning 30 tomorrow! I can't believe it.Where has the time gone.

The other day J and I saw this turtle crossing the road. Although I have seen them many times, and these ones are not the pretty painted turtle, I thought I would snap a photo to share my with snow bound pals who were treated to a lovely snow day today.

Community Friends
Nights like these make this my favorite time of the year in Florida. I've been trying to spend as much time outside as possible but today was a busy day indoors full of conference calls, transcribing data, and Live Chats with my online students.

I did sneak in some crocheting time too! I saw this African Flower on a beautiful pillow on Alice's Blog, Crocheting with Raymond's, and I had to take a quick try at the pattern before I decide what to make with it. I may make a pillow, but I think I MUST make a blanket first. I love flowers very much and this motif is exquisite!

I hope you have a fabulous evening and Thursday. XOXO
